Well bill has been lucky enough to have between xmas and new year off… so what has he been up too.. well anyone that knows bill will know that he is not a man to sit on his butt and do nothing….. PLUS i think he has been trying to get in as many extra activities as possible before bub arrives…..
Ma, Pa and Jod all headed back to inverell on boxing day so once I got bill to help me with a general tidy up he was off to the races.. He went with Wendy and Paul.. i didn’t go.. Too damm hot !!!…. I think he was expecting it to be better then he got as they were only there for a couple of hours and retreated to the local pub where is was cooler and less crowded…. he ran into Matt and his mates there and made an afternoon of it…. We also had a good friend come visit us from sydney for the night… Snooks has been overseas for the last 2 years (i think) and decided he wanted to head to newey for a spot of fishing and surfing etc…. so the next day bill and snooks headed out at about 5.30am to stocko for a spot of fishing and surfing !!!….
Bill caught a flathead and snooks didn’t do so well…..


that arvo we headed over to Paul and Donna’s again for a BBQ with Wendy and Paul…. Bill took the fish and cooked it up on the bbq…
Since then it has been a combination of golf and more fishing and more surfing for Bill…. He went out yesterday morning again real early with Ben ( i get to sleep in while he’s gone ) and managed to get a salmon…

It’s been that hot down here so most of these activities have been in the early mornign or late arvo so the middle of the day has been reserved for quality time with ME !!!! in the air con….

ahhh !! as do all good things it must come to an end… Back to work on Tuesday !!!!

Well,,,Christmas has come and gone for another year.. This year we spent in our new house in Newcastle as we didn’t want to take the chance if the bub arrived early….
Ma & Pa came down and Jodie and Matt came up from sydney for the day….. although it was quiet is was a very nice day….. Bill, Mum and I headed into the catherderal for the 7.30 church session in the morning which was really nice…. Bill then went for a christmas day surf….. Byt he time we got home dad was chanting at the bit to open some pressies but we had to wait for Jod to arrive…..
Jod and Matt arrived just before 11 am and it was stacks on the mill to get he best seat in the lounge room for pressies……. Bill played santa and the presents were handed out a plenty…..
all in all I think it showed that everyone was good for the year as well all got some really nice stuff.
The baby.. although not here yet also scored pretty well with pressies…… here is a pic of the bubs first pressie

And last but not least dad ended up with 3 new watches for xmas…. He got a really nice proper one from Ma.. and 2 mickey mouse watches from the kids ( these are watches he can were to work adn get covered in tile grount etc etc.. usually $5 from Go Lo )
He was so excited about his watches he could get into them having to resort to using his teeth

we had a beautiful baked xmas lunch that Ma cooked …. and then had a little rest before heading over to Paul and Donna’s place to spend xmas evening with Trev, Jean, Paul, Donna, Wendy, Paul, Dave and Donna’s family…. it was really nice…..
we got home just in time to put in a call to Melanie who was all by herself in Rocky to say Merry Christmas !!!…
so all in all you couldn’t have asked for much more…..

Well, the pregnant desperate housewife decided it was time for an update…. not much happened late last week had a few hectic days with dr’s appointments and the last of the Christmas shopping…
FRIDAY NIGHT…
Friday night sore us heading to carols in King Edward Park… this is starting to become a bit of a tradition… we went about 3-4 years ago as we had nothing on and found out that it was a really good night sitting on the grassed hill area singing Christmas carols and getting into the Christmas spirit….. and of course singing load and proud as only we can…..
SATURDAY…..
Saturday was to become an historic day in the Jacknorman household… WE GOT AIR CON….
Tim was good enough to drive from Sydney on Sat morning and Bill and Him put in out new split system, reverse cycle, daikan 3 horse power inverter air con…..
Now to set the scene for you.. Sat Morning was storming with thunder and lighting and I was thinking GREAT !!! Then at about 10am it fined up and we had clothes on the line…
Tim arrived about 10.30am and all was looking merry….. At about 11.30 it rained again and the dash was on to secure the stuff in Tim’s ute and also get the clothes in as it was looking like it was setting in for the day !!!!
then about 1/2 hour later the sun came back out and the temp hit about 35 degrees with about 95 percent humidity…
The boys started about 11am and I think Tim’s quote was as soon as we get the inside unit up the rest is a breeze….. well that got up in just under an hour or so and I was thinking happy days !!!.. the outside unit went in relatively quick as well,, however as with everything there is always a stumbling block and that proved to be the electrical…..however after bill and Tim both crawled under the house, climbed up in the roof and on the roof….. scratched heads etc etc they managed to find a solution and we were underway again…
Meanwhile.. back in the house.. I was organising lunch and generally trying to keep water and icy poles up to the boys and and organising a baked dinner for tea…. i was trying to stay cool.. It was hot!!!..
Anyway god bless them both they worked all day and at 8pm the air con was fired up for the first time and I can tell you there were 3 people who gave a huge sigh of relief …..

Needless to say after a very long day for all of us ( I didn’t get my nap ) we had dinner and headed to bed….
SUNDAY….
The boys got up early on Sun and headed out to Stocko for some fishing action…… I had a sleep in and generally did nothing at all…
They arrived home just on lunch time and Tim had to head back to Sydney…
Bill and I headed over to Paul and Donna’s for a BBQ for his 30th.. and then after we went to a JOHN BUTLER TRIO concert in town…..
Now if you have never had the chance to see these guys live do yourself a favour.. They are 3 of the most talented musicians and unreal entertainers.. we had an unreal night and the baby loved every second of it…. It was dancing up a storm… and of course today mum’s rib cage is a bit battered and bruised.. ( ahh the sacrifices you make ) ha ha…
they that pretty much summarised the last couple of days… it’s been a great weekend and I just hope it gets hot enough today so I can use the new air con….

Well the christmas spirit is well and truley alive in Jacknorman street with the new addition of our first CHRISTMAS TREE….
once again Bill did not disappoint and came through with one of the biggest xmas trees I have ever seen…. Sceptial at first as we had to modify it to get it in the front door and the trunk of the tree was about 15cm in diameter.. but once we got it up and put some deco’s on it.. I had to accept defeat and proclaim that the thing looked pretty good……..

Pete and Desie were down for the weekend and Bill decided to take Pete off roading in the 4WD to so some fishing really early on sunday morning…..
now this information is second hand so will tell the story to the best of my ability… The guys headed off at about 5.30am… things were aparently going a bit slow.. Pete got the first hook up which was a little fish ( can’t rememeber what type) 1-nil…. Then bill got one as well 1-1….
then as Bill tells the story.. they seen some sharks and next minute the water started to boil and there were salmon everywhere.. teh birds went crazy and pete reckons bill took off down the beach in search of some salmon… They both managed to hook a nice one each…..

Today is Bill’s Birthday… 29 years young !!!!….. Baby and I bought him the the new Bryce Courtney book which he will loves, some new clothes which he will learn to love over time…. Gotta have a funky daddy !!!…

He has also been granted funding approval from the jacknorman board to go ahead and purchase a new surfboard for a joint birthday, xmas, thanks for fathering my child present!!!… since the old one is water logged he must also purchase a nice cover for it at the same time so it doesn’t get dropped or fly off the top of cars onto the road etc …..

Tonight we are going out to dinner with some friends and Pete & Desie are down tomorrow for the weekend……

Mark your diaries people this time next year will be the big 30 !!!!

Ok so I am 3 days in to Maturity leave and already I missing the human interaction.. I even found myself talking to strangers in Big W yesterday just so I could get someone to talk to Me.!!!

I have washed all the baby stuff and we are all systems go in that department…. I have done most of the Xmas shopping and wrapped the presents and put up some Xmas decos.. I am now waiting for my “hunter gatherer” husband to supply me with a “real” Xmas tree for our lounge room.
I have taken care off all the domestic duties like a perfect little house wife and have managed to have dinner on the table every night at 8 for some quality time with my husband… Ok so this is sounding like an episode of desperate housewife’s and YES the fad has already started to wear off….

One of the major challengers I have faced so far is the “heat” factor… now for the last 12 years I have spent the majority of my time in summer in an air conditioned office… I have always had my father tirelessly tell me how much easier my job is because of this and I have always told him it was nonsense!!!… Well the last 3 days have really put that theory to the test…. I think I am averaging about 3-4 cold showers a day and the house looks like no one is home as I have all the windows and curtains pulled and the fan and little air con pumping to try and stay cool…..But as usual I am on top of things and am in the process of organising for a split system air con to be put in ASAP !!!!..

Bill & I also have out last pre natal class tonight.. They have been really good and I think we have both got something out of it…..

Anyway like the perfect little housewife.. It’s 4.37pm and my husband will be home soon.. Now what do them say.. Go shower and make yourself fresh, make sure your hair and make up is done, the house is tidy, the washing and ironing is done, dinner is prepared and you have a cold drink and a snack ready for him when he gets home… NOT !!!!.. I’m going to watch Bold and the beautiful…. and thank god I’m a housewife in the 2000′s not the 1950′s……
